I have been told that the artist in me FLOetic Lara aka FLO is an exceptional young woman who touches audiences nationwide through her artistic work. I myself am known for my singing, poetry and acting, and I'd like to think that my presence engages all who watch me. I have performed at some of London ’s most prestigious venues such as Brixton academy, Apple & Snakes and The Jazz Cafe.

Currently I am working on my independent debut E.P. ‘Just Let It FLO…’ the songs exude inspirational energy through melodic tones, which I hope will leave my audience feeling warm inside.

When I was 17 years of age I was nominated and awarded the position of UK Youth Ambassador 2003 and was flown to Washington DC where I spent time shadowing the Secretary of State Collin Powell. I was also a guest performer for disadvantaged young people at the J.F.Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts. This wonderful experience made me recognise the importance of giving back to my community. I now teach workshops at youth centres, schools and colleges where I assist young people to enhance their creative writing, performance and delivery skills.

I have also started a company called ENERGY! Productions- empowering the community through showcase events, workshops and youth training. One of these events is called Raw ENERGY! Which incorporates Theatre, Spoken word and live music, creating a platform for innovative artists.

As a performer my favourite moment was being asked by the organizers of Rainer to write a poem for His Royal Highness Prince Phillip. As a poetess I was invited to lunch at St. James Palace and to perform. That very same day I was presented with a framed poem from the Prince. Making an impact within the realms of royalty....me... FLO....it made me feel awesome!! I have also performed privately for Erykah Badu at her concert in Brixton Academy back stage, again, an excellent feeling.....

I recently played a main character in “Slave Teacher” at the Lyric theatre in Hammersmith for a second season, once again I was told that I captivated the audience with the characters powerful essence, thought provoking lyrics and my own sweet vocals. Being a part of the eighties Babies project is not only helping me to engage with bright and enthusiastic students from Lambeth College but it also enables me to network with some of the best Soul Legends in Britain, this is fantastic because I hope to take the UK music industry by storm.
